Nepal's deepest lake, and Ringmo, the village at its outlet.
Shey Phoksundo sits at about 3,600 metres in the Dolpa high country, a long walk up from the Juphal airstrip and Dunai. The water is a colour that photographs never quite get right, and there is nothing floating on it: the lake is held sacred and boats are not allowed.
Ringmo is the Bon village on the lake's southern shore, flat-roofed houses and prayer walls above the outlet waterfall. The film follows the trail in and spends time in the village before the lake.
