Simikot's airstrip sits on a shelf above the Karnali gorge at about 2,900 metres, and the flight in from Nepalgunj or Surkhet is how most people still arrive, road or no road. The approach is short and the mountains are close.
The film is that arrival: the descent, the strip, and the town around it. Humla has had a road since July 2025, but flights remain the dependable way in.
