Why Visit Surma Sarovar
Surma Sarovar is a high-altitude lake deep in Bajhang district, close to the Nepal-China border region, considered sacred by local communities and visited by a small number of pilgrims each year. Its remoteness — reached only by a demanding, multi-day trek far from any road — is exactly what makes it one of the last genuinely untouched destinations in far-western Nepal.
Best Time to Visit
The lake is only realistically accessible from around May through September, once winter snow has retreated from the high route.

This is a Challenging trek requiring full self-sufficiency, an experienced local guide, and several days of remote walking with no tourist infrastructure along the way. This is not a route for first-time trekkers.
